We’re back with more product reviews Beauties, and I fear we have our first negative take. No worries, this is not turning into a beauty product “hit list.” However, only discussing the products that work well isn’t an accurate reflection of my experiences with all the products and styles I try over the month.

Bob (Quick Weave)
I have been wearing quick weaves since high school, and appreciate that I can try out different styles without a long-term commitment. One of my goals for 2025 is to have more fun with my hair, and I never have more fun than when I know a look eats. And the bob always eats.
Tip: If you’re trying a quick weave for the first time, (1) don’t plan to keep it in for longer than three weeks, especially if you wash your weekly or biweekly and (2) don’t spend a lot of money on the hair if it’s a style you’re not coming back to soon.
Glossier Invisible Shield Daily Sunscreen
I decided to try out a different sunscreen every month this year.1 My favorite ever is the Murad Essential-C Day Moisture, so I have high expectations for my SPF. Glossier did not disappoint. It went on completely clear, did not have a scent, and the gel-like consistency melted into my skin. The only drawback is that the press-down top means I can’t be 100% sure I’ve used all the product.
Tip: This SPF is a gel, so I recommend using a moisturizer before applying. For context, the Murad has a lotion consistency, so I can often skip moisturizer.
My skin was so dry at the beginning of January, that I was ready to slather it in Vaseline. I wasn’t that desperate for moisture but I was getting close. I decided to finally break out my Jet Lag Masque and discovered it isn’t a traditional mask at all, but a moisturizer. Ya’ll I had the answer all along! It was super hydrating, and something I’ll return to sooner next winter.
Tip: This product can be little dicey for us acne-prone girls, so don’t use her every night. Just to be safe, I washed my face with my Murad Acne Control Clarifying Cleanser when using it.

Skin Theory Antioxidant Triple Peptide Cream
This is the product I couldn’t give its 10s. While I was trying to find a moisturizer that would help my dry and peeling skin, I tried this one. It didn’t provide any lasting moisture, and it smelled like what I think hospital lotion would smell like.
Tip: Skip this one if you’re sensitive to strong smells and are looking for lasting moisture.
L'Occitane Almond Shower Oil
Instead of replacing my Naturium Glow Getter Oil Body Wash, I gave this a try. I’m sure I’m the last TikTok user to have purchased it, but the girls were right, it’s good. I was pleasantly surprised by how much lather a small amount provided and the almond scent was pleasant, but not overwhelming.
Tip: Pair this product with a cocoa butter lotion and vanilla perfume for a scent that will give what I’m confident Jill gave on the Is It The Way set.
I decided to try Nuuly at the end of the year because I wanted to refresh my wardrobe, without breaking the bank, and I wasn’t sure what my style was anymore. In 2024, I was grabbing items at random and perusing whatever was on the sales rack of my favorite stores. Renting pieces from Nuuly has curbed my shopping (it is my clothes budget for the month) and it lets me experiment with fun pieces. In the video below I'm showing my recent order.

Have we discussed my nail shape change? I left almond behind and switched to a slightly longer square. Eeek. Who is she? This shape makes more sense for the playful styles I’ve been choosing lately.
Tips: Be careful with these things the first couple of days because they are sharp.

This ensures that I wear it every day and that I never get too comfortable with my routine. Full disclosure I already had three in under my bathroom sink, and like my TBR list, I’m finishing them ALL this year.
I crashed out when I discovered Jet Lag was a moisturizer too. It was hyped so much and was a little disappointing. It moisturizes but people acted like it saved their lives and increased their credit score.
You recommend a moisturizer with the gel sunscreen. Is there a reason why?
